story

In 1974 the special purpose association center community aid in the Odenwaldkreis was founded as a non-profit organization from the district hospital Erbach to offer the Odenwald population among other things outpatient care for the elderly and sick after a hospital stay. For almost two decades, the Community Aid Center was under the honorary direction of the then administrative director Werner Wacker and the superior Hedwig Henneböhl from the Erbach district hospital. Since the beginning of 1993, the facility has been headed by Michael Vetter as the full-time managing director.

On January 1, 2010, the tasks of the outpatient care facility and the meal service “Meals on Wheels” were transferred to the Odenwald Care Center, which is also a non-profit organization. For the inpatient care facility and senior-friendly living in the senior citizens' residence "Hedwig Henneböhl - residential and nursing home in Beerfelden -" is that tooOdenwald care center responsible. The tasks of the early counseling center will continue to be performed by the Community Aid Center.

In 2006 the Odenwald Care Foundation was founded, which runs the Odenwald Care Center. The board of directors and the association assembly of the Center for Community Aid can be found on the Board of Trustees and the Board of Trustees of the Odenwald Care Foundation. These include the Odenwaldkreis, all cities and communities of the Odenwaldkreis with the exception of the city of Breuberg, the Evangelical Dean's Office Odenwald, the Catholic Dean's Office Erbach, the District Association of Workers' Welfare Odenwaldkreis eV, the DRK-Kreisverband Odenwaldkreis eV and the Odenwaldkreis Health Center as the successor to the Erbach District Hospital .

In the foundation business and the foundation statutes, the Odenwald Care Foundation has set itself the goal of exclusively supporting the Community Aid Center and the Odenwald Care Center in fulfilling their tasks, in particular the outpatient and inpatient care of the elderly and sick of the Odenwald population. The foundation is non-profit and takes on an important task with regard to demographic development for the benefit of the people living in the Odenwald district.
